In the exhibition Mutated Sea \/ Trampled Ground, the creative process is cast as the protagonist in an attempt to reach behind the elevated artefact. Ceramic pieces appear alongside raw clay, slip, jesmonite, textile and wood to form a new, spatial whole. The materials play the role of nature, while the artist\u2019s hand, the human element, ultimately and unde-niably controls the composition. But perhaps, these roles are not completely fixed after all? Instead, they move back and forth, flowing, intertwining and fusing into one, as in a dream-like play. Here, tamed nature is wild, as in our inner landscapes. Here, we find the tender, the soft, the pointy, dirty and cracked. A possible manifesto or a metaphor for the uncontrollable and chaotic nature of artistic creation. A walk into a waking dream, where disobedient wills command, and unresolved connections become possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PEACH CORNER 2024

The earth runs through the body. In the digestive tract, earth and fire meet. Both are alive and
need to be fed. A combustion takes place beneath the skin, akin to the burning of wood in a fire.
The earth eats itself through us. Digestion is a movement. A stream carried along by muscles. The
flow is directed towards the earth. Women shape new bodies out of clay. Voices in the muddy
waters say: we do not know what bacterial growth on the property means. What healing in the
private sector means. The woman is a tissue growing and infiltrating other organs. Sun and moon
shine like diagnostic devices against skin. Pressure makes changes in bodies. Atmospheric
pressure. Systemic pressure. Heavy pressure

In the waxing moon the earth is thirsting. In the waning moon the earth is flooded. Mucus flows
along the curbs. Foam lies on the sea. Infections run through

the altered landscape
the altered tools

contagion runs between works and workers

hands nostrils
flesh milk mouths

Bacteria from between the teeth run into the bloodstream. Bacteria from the soil is injected into
cheekbones

soap flows easily
through
(an obstacle course of) measuring equipment

Times of transition are tough on the skin. When society is no longer responsive, the immune
system has to be

already the landscape is a collection of craters
already the body is a collection of scars<\/p>\n\n\n\n
